We had the pleasure of joining Thunderbow for a month's kayaking in India (end 2006).  A customised itinerary of a few days on the Ganges, followed by the Brahmaputra (Siang) & Subansiri expeditions back-to-back. Straight off, we have to say that we have travelled many places with our kayaks but have never experienced such a high standard of service!

Hot showers at the Ganga camp and "bed tea" every morning. Plenty of rain before we arrived to give us a huge trip on the mighty Siang, a river that certainly lived up to its challenging reputation.  The Subansiri -the most beautiful & idyllic river we have ever paddled with plenty of rapids to entertain.  Excellent trip and river leadership throughout, allowing us to relax with full confidence in our safety.  The amount of deliciously tempting food (we ate far too much).  The incredibly generous cultural experiences (and history lessons) with the tribal folk of Arunachal Pradesh -again exceeded all expectations.

Many thanks to Kim and the whole Thunderbow team for looking after us to the highest standard and for going that extra mile.  A word of warning though readers. its addictive going travelling with these guys. see you in India in 2007.

It was my great pleasure to be part of the fantastic expedition on the mighty (Siang) Brahmaputra river in the state of Arunachal Pradesh N E
India. in Nov/ Dec 2004 organized by Vaibav Kala and Kim Hartlin.

All aspecta of the trip were superbly organized as we traveled into a remote tribal region rarely visited by outsiders. The water is huge, the local people are colourful and friendly, the scenery is spectacular and the
guides and crew very professional.

I consider it the trip of a lifetime and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend the expedition to anyone with a love for adventure and of the great outdoors.

Words cannot express, what we lived during our 10 day river descent on the mighty siang Bramhputra river. A river that changes names about 10 times from source to sea, and ends up as the padma in Calcutta very serious rapids, alternating with quiet times on the river, are only a little part of the mystic that makes this trip for me the indigenous villages and the encounters with it's inhabitants as well as the incredibly competant guiding and client care made the Bramaputra an unforgettable experience. Thanks a million Kim.

I am writing this letter on behalf of Kim Hartlin. Kim was our guide on a Nov- Dec. twelve (12) day river rafting trip to eastern India. We were in remote country, on a class 4 plus river, and Kim did an outstanding job. Even though two years before rafts flipped, ours never came even close. The waves were 20 plus feet high in some rapids, i.e. comparable to the Grand Canyon runs.

In conclusion, I would recommend Kim as a guide on any river in the world. I would be happy to discuss any questions any one might have also.

  Dear Kim,

Your tremendous skills, strength and love for what you do have enabled us to live an unbelievable adventure on the very exotic Kali river. Going down the river and looking at Nepal on the left bank and India on the right, with new wondrous sights unfolding at each new meander was unlike anything we had experienced before. The wildlife and the plant life greatly enhanced the feeling of freedom we shared with you and our whole team. Namaste TOCO MAN!
