The Lohit River enters India at the border of China near Kibithu, Indias eastern most inhabited tip. It is a medium volume continuous Class 4+/5 river in its upper alpine reaches and becomes a pool drop towards the latter end of the trip.

There have been very few raft expeditions on the Lohit River. We were part of a trip in February 1994; we organized the first successful complete descent on the Lohit. A Canadian, Indian and UK team tackled the exceptional river. This trip offers kayakers a solid class 4+/5 Expedition with on of the hardest multi-day runs in the Himalayas.
